Starting in a new direction: building a business up from nothing

“I ended up going on to train and take a completely different path in life.”
“I run and own Concept-30 which is a ladies only gym and fitness studio. I have done this since the beginning of April this year, so not very long. I took over the building and bought the equipment and I’m kind of building the business up from nothing. I joined the gym that was here as a member. I originally set out to buy a coffee shop in Falmouth having run similar businesses for 10 years and slowly realised I didn’t really want to do that anymore, so I joined here as a member and I loved it. I ended up going on to train and take a completely different path in life and buy this place.”
“I went to Truro college as a mature student and I did my Anatomy and Physiology and then I qualified as a fitness instructor and aerobics teacher. “
“My typical day is I start at 9 o’clock or just before 9 o’clock. I do a fully instructed group circuit class at 9.15 where I take the ladies round, it’s a bit like a boot camp, really push them, motivate them. Subsequently I do personal training throughout the day. I’m working on advertising at the moment and generally meeting and greeting my clients and dealing with whatever they might throw at me.”
“If I could have any help I think I would love some help with marketing, something which is not my natural thing.”
“It’s very expensive. So guidance and help with effective marketing would be good.
“Like I have said, I’ve qualified up for the level that I am and I intend to go through the levels of training within my field. Also, I would like to continue along with my 1st aid training, and any training within marketing. Basically anything that is going to help me to make my business grow.
“I’m building the business up from pretty much nothing. I’ve put everything I own into this business. I’ve recently sold my beautiful car and bought a banger, putting the money into the business and I have a very short turn around time to make it work or not make it work. I’m building it up satisfactorily but obviously, it needs to happen. So, it’s getting there, but security is a big word isn’t it?”
“Hopefully my members will continue to increase and I can run my business and make it grow in the future and offer my clients more and more.”
